Performance/Composition/Recording

Winner of leading US Jazz Publication JAZZIZ'z "Woodwinds on Fire" competition judged by Michael Brecker in 1996.

Jazz Performance skills honed over many years in Sweden and Britain playing clubs and festivals including Bracknell, Brecon and JVC with performers including Tony Levin, John Critchinson, Henry Lowther, Mark Fletcher and Fred Baker.

Recordings with BBC Radio, National Geographic and Universal Films, BBC Television including work with Eric Bibb, Ric Sanders, Gordon Giltrap and P.P. Arnold/Mick Jagger.

Academic/Instrumental Music Studies

Research

Carrying out ongoing research into the development of performance and instrumental education.  Is doing fieldwork research into traditional Scottish and Irish music and, from its roots to contemporary performances.

Education

Teaches both classical and improvisational flute to pupils at all levels, as well as taking part in jazz workshops.
Teaching Flute on BA Music Performance Course perth Collage.

Broadcasting

Producer/presenter for BBC Radio West Midlands programme "Music Spoken Here" a live music programme including on-air interviews.

"He has been performing in SE Asia for the last couple of years with
Herbie Mann sideman Ted Lo and many other international jazz musicians:
recording amongst other albums Hong Kong album of the year  2004.
He is now back in Britain and has just completed recording with
extraordinary guitarist Gordon Giltrap. He hopes to be recording with
the great Morris Pert in the near future".
